Although the location was wonderful, the staff were unfriendly. We were promised a room to ourselves but at 11pm one of the staff members entered our room without warning, turned on the lights and threw our things away from the spare bed and ended up adding a person not from our party to our room. There was also no privacy in the showers and when renting a towel I was only offered a hand towel. They also only had two toilets for the whole hostel and one of those did not have a lock.
Ibex was overall a good value for money hostel. The dorms were cramped and allowed for no belongings to be stored in the dorm and only other alternative was a room beside reception that was accessible to everyone. I would have appreciated being advised that the shower facilities were communal showers but the bathrooms were kept clean and served their purpose. The wifi and kitchen and dining area were assets to the hostel, despite the cramped dorm and security issues.
Sketchy and concerning entrance I'd love to have security space in my room instead of dropping a bag at reception. I think I only saw 2 staff during my stay and neither was particularly friendly.
In general the hostel is very good for the price they charge, the location is perfect, close to everything we need. The only thing I think it could be different is the staff, they are very rude. And the beds are not comfortable. And in the website it said they had breakfast, but they don't serve breakfast.

This hostel is one of the cheapest I have ever stayed at, and it was still great for the price!I had originally booked 3 nights, but when I arrived 2 days late only wanting to stay for 1 night, they were totally okay with that and let me pay for one night only. It is super rare for hostels to be that accommodating. I was in a 18 bed mixed dorm, which was spotlessly clean. However, be warned that the bunks are 3 tiers, which is a little claustrophobic/inconvenient. When I was there, there were literally 2 other people in my room, so the capacity of the room with not a problem. There was no noise or anything. Bonus: The beds were comfy and the bathroom was large and ensuite!
There is a decent common area and a good sized kitchen as well.Also, great location for walking to the major tourist attractions!!
We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! The beds are a bit squeaky and the breakfast isn't much, but overall it was a great, safe, home-base for us!
